Welcome to my website.

My autumn classes are now underway and run up to Christmas .  Most are full but one or two spaces are available.  You will find more information below and details of times and venues on the 'watercolour classes' page.

I have worked as a professional artist since leaving what is now Norwich University of the Arts.  In addition to painting, I illustrate books, run art classes, workshops and painting holidays in the sun.  So, if any of this is of interest to you, welcome, you are in the right place!

My website has a menu at the top right of each page and clicking on a heading will take you to that section. Orange text on a page indicates a 'link' that will take you to the place indicated by clicking on it.  I hope you will find it easy to find your way around but if you have difficulty, please click here to send me an email: I will be pleased to hear from you.

I am very pleased to be working with Thompson's Gallery Aldeburgh during October.  The programme of artist events is now over but the exhibition at Thompsons's Gallery, (175 High Street, Aldeburgh) continues throughout the month.

The Big Draw which is happening this Saturday, 20th October at Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall?  It’s a free event for all the community and welcomes all ages and all abilities so people can come on their own or with their children or grandchildren.  Paper, crayons, pencils etc will all be provided at no cost (kindly sponsored by Sue and John Thompson). Two local artists will be running the event – Caroline McAdam Clark and David Gillingwater. They’ll be easels set up for life drawing and still life as well as lots of trestle tables.  Caroline and David will be on hand for advice if people want it but mainly it is all about people having fun, picking up a pencil and having a doodle! Timings are 11 – 4PM.

Venue: Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall, Crabbe Street, Aldeburgh IP15 5BN

Date: This Saturday, 20 October

Time: 11am – 4pm. Pop in for 10 minutes or two hours. Stay as long as you like.

In partnership with Jubilee Hall, which will host a similar event suitable for families on Saturday 20 October. See website for more information.

My classes have now re-started:  details are listed here.  You can see what we will be doing at each class here where you can also see what we have done previously.

Beginners are very welcome and you may join at any time.

An event I am not involved in but one of which I heartily approve is the global Big Draw Festival.  A professional artist drawing and painting workshop will be held at The Red House, Aldeburgh on 21 October.  The cost is £15 and further details are here.  On 20 October there will be a free event at Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall from 11am - 4pm: all welcome.

2019 painting holidays at The Old Stone House are now booking and filling quickly.  2018 has proved to be terrifically enjoyable with wonderful food, weather, scenery and of course, painting! But it's not all about painting: we offer wonderful trips to some truly spectacular locations that most tourists would be unaware of. Feedback has been wonderful and we are now looking forward to meeting new and returning guests in 2019. We have limited places that really do offer superb value for both painters and non-painting partners.  For further details please see our Painting Holidays website.

My new studio is already proving popular for private tuition. Of course, I will continue to provide private tuition at your own home if you wish. Buying a gift of private tuition can make a lovely gift. Please email me for further information.

Gift vouchers can make a great and thoughtful gift any time of year but, of course, especially for birthdays and Christmas. Vouchers for a set amount, a term of classes, a day workshop or private tuition at the recipients home or at my studio are available. Email me to find out more!
